Galatians | Week 2
JESUS TRANSFORMED ME
Paul experienced a very dramatic life transformation and when he looked back at the change in his life, it wasn’t because of the sacred places, sacred practices, or sacred men. It was only because of Jesus. I’m not sure what your story looks like; maybe it feels similar to Paul’s transformation or maybe God’s grace has sustained you from a young age. Rest assured, you have a story to tell and Jesus IS changing you! God’s grace is happening before we realize it. It may seem like it’s happening behind the scenes, but when we take a step back, we can see how far we’ve come. We are not the same as we used to be!
Weekly Challenge
This week, read Galatians 1:10-24. Read it a few times. Sit with the text for a bit and let the words sink in. What sticks out to you? What doesn’t make sense? After reading, spend some time reflecting on your own story. How is God changing and shaping you?
Questions for Reflection
- Paul acknowledges that it is so easy to get wrapped up in the approval of others, even when it comes to our spiritual lives. What things have you been doing in hopes of receiving validation from people rather than God?
- In verse 13 Paul says, “You know what I was like when…” What would people have observed about you before you encountered Jesus? Is it dramatically different than who you are today? If you don’t have a “dramatic conversion story”, how would you be different if you hadn’t met Jesus when you did? Have you seen God protecting you from who you would have been without him?
- Take a step back and look at the trajectory of your life. How has God been working behind the scenes to shape you and mold you over your time walking with Him?
- God has the power to transform your current life into your former life. What aspects of your life now should you leave behind? Are there areas where you haven’t allowed the Holy Spirit to change you?
- God has given you a story of life change. Who do you need to share your story with.
